Travel Bursary Scheme Announced

Posted by aedc-admin. Categories: News Home.

The arab.european Documentary Convention (aDC) will be awarding a limited amount of travel bursaries to eligible persons from the Arab region, who wish to participate in the convention following a competitive selection process.

“We know from experience that affording travel and accommodation is among the major obstacles  that bar professionals from the Arab region from the opportunity to attend conventions and festivals such as the aDC in Europe. This is why with the establishment of this scheme we want to ease the pressure and offer some form of support. In 2018 the support will be limited but we hope we can continue growing the scheme for future editions.” Marion Schmidt, aDC Manager

The aDC bursary scheme is specifically designed to supplement travel for independent documentary professionals from the Arab region that do not reside in the city where the aDC takes place. It is directed at persons who with their contribution can enrich the aDC, as well as benefit from attending the convention for their future career development.

The call for applications opens on Thursday, March 8th.

Full details about the bursary scheme, selection process and how to apply are available here.
